North Yuba Trail
The North Yuba River Trail is an interesting trail in many respects. Though rocky in places, it has a solid, fast track feel to it. It is a truly cross-country type trail. You generally climb as much as you descend while paralleling the North Yuba River.
It has some tight switchbacks and is a lot of fun to ride.
What's one big advantage of the North Yuba Trail? It's close to Downieville. (4 miles) If you want to make a quick run towards the end of the day or have limited time it's quick and easy to get to. You can get a nice workout in before the sun falls or before setting up camp.
If the North Yuba Trail was in your town, people would consider it sensational. However, since it's in Downieville, it is merely an emerald set in a constellation of diamonds.
